TaiJi grown in New York City

New Session Starts October 5th, 2015

Classes are taught by Terry Collins and his assistants. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing and try to arrive 5 minutes early. Classes begin with a light warm-up followed by instruction in the form.

Beginners' TaiJi

This is a short form that can be completed in 5-10 minutes, good for relaxing and improving one's body and health. Each week, new movements are added to the form, each new movement brings new discoveries. Over time, the body and mind reach new levels of balance and agility. This form was developed by Professor Cheng.

Push Hands / Qi Gong

There is a gentle warmup, Qi Gong exercises from both the Yang and Chen styles, including "silk reeling" and "rooting", and two-person sensitivity and energy training. Push hands is the two-person TaiJi training. We focus on soft-style push hands as popularized by Prof. Cheng. Skills include rooting, listening, neutralizing, and returning power. Learning these skills deepens one's relationships in life.
